Use case

Food, grocery and local delivery on WhatsApp

In many markets WhatsApp is simply how local customers contact a food business. Order status and delivery windows dominate the inbox.

What customers ask

  • "Where is my delivery?" — answered from the live order and fulfilment record
  • "Does this contain nuts?" — answered from the allergen information on your product
  • "Are you open?" — answered without anyone checking a phone

What changes

Delivery questions are answered instantly instead of piling up during service hours.

What does not change

The agent answers messages it receives. It does not chase customers, it does not send campaigns, and it cannot act on an abandoned cart today. If a vendor promises you those without showing you where to switch them on, ask again.

  • No visual workflow builderAutomations run on an event-driven engine, but there is no drag-and-drop editor for authoring them in the app.
  • Commerce-event triggers are not selectable yetThe engine supports orders, checkouts, customers, products and fulfilments. Merchants can currently switch on the inbound WhatsApp message trigger only. The rest are rolling out.
  • No abandoned-cart recoveryThe checkout trigger is implemented in the backend but is not merchant-selectable, so no customer can be messaged unprompted.
