How it works

How it answers, and what it looks up

Your customers already ask you questions on WhatsApp. This app makes sure someone always answers — using your real products, stock and orders.

The problem, stated plainly

A customer messages a store on WhatsApp and expects an answer at WhatsApp speed. If nobody is at the desk, that question goes cold — and by the time someone replies in the morning, the customer has often bought elsewhere. The same questions repeat all day: sizing, availability, delivery windows, order status. And a scripted bot makes it worse, because it cannot see your inventory and will confirm an item is in stock that sold out yesterday.

What the agent does instead

It answers from your store rather than from a script. Before replying it can search your indexed catalogue and read live Shopify data, which is the difference between an assistant and a chatbot.

Answers from your live catalogue

The agent searches your indexed products semantically, so a question like "do you have this in a medium?" is answered from your real products rather than a script.

Reads live Shopify data

101 Shopify operations available to the agent: 33 on orders, 18 on customers, 38 on products and 12 on inventory. It can look up products, variants, stock levels, orders and fulfilments while it replies.

Nine languages

The admin and the storefront widgets ship in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Portuguese (Brazil) and Turkish. The catalogue index is multilingual, so product search works across languages.

A human is one click away

Hand any conversation to a person, per conversation, at any moment. The agent stops replying when you take over and stays out of the way.

Every run is explained

Each agent run is a timeline showing, node by node, which tools it called and what came back — so you can see exactly why it answered the way it did.

Conversations become a pipeline

Leads are captured while the agent chats, with scores, tags, notes, consent state and CSV or JSON export.

Setup, in four steps

  1. A few minutes

Install and connect your WhatsApp number

Install from the Shopify App Store and connect your WhatsApp Business number through Meta Embedded Signup, guided step by step.

  2. One sitting

    Describe your store

Give the agent your store name, policies, tone of voice and the phrases it should avoid. Then index your catalogue so it can search your products.

  3. Same day

Create an agent and choose what it may read

Pick which Shopify data the agent can access, write its instructions, and send it a test message before it meets a customer.

  4. Ongoing

Let it answer, and watch the runs

Switch it on for incoming messages. Read the run timelines, correct the instructions where an answer was wrong, and hand over to a human whenever you want.

Where a person takes over

The agent is not meant to remove people from the conversation. Hand over any thread with one click and the agent stops replying to that customer, with the history intact. Customers can ask for a person, and that request is recorded as part of the run.

What it does not do

The two limits that surprise people most, both of which are product limits rather than plan limits:

  • Commerce-event triggers are not selectable yetThe engine supports orders, checkouts, customers, products and fulfilments. Merchants can currently switch on the inbound WhatsApp message trigger only. The rest are rolling out.
  • No abandoned-cart recoveryThe checkout trigger is implemented in the backend but is not merchant-selectable, so no customer can be messaged unprompted.
  • No revenue, ROI or cart-recovery-rate metricsThe dashboard reports conversations, messages, workflow executions and success rate. It does not report revenue or ROI.

Questions about the mechanics

What does the agent actually look up before replying?

It searches your indexed catalogue and can read live products, variants, inventory levels, orders and customers through the Shopify API — limited to the permissions you grant that agent.

Where does it reply?

On your WhatsApp Business number. The customer sees a normal WhatsApp conversation; your team sees the thread in the app's inbox.

Can it message a customer who has not written first?

No. The agent answers inbound messages. Sending to someone who has not contacted you requires either an approved template outside the 24-hour service window or an automation trigger, and commerce-event triggers are not selectable yet.

How do I know it is answering correctly?

Every run is recorded as a timeline showing which tools the agent called and what came back, so a wrong answer has a visible cause rather than being a mystery.

Step-by-step guides for each stage are in the help centre.
